Does Windows 7 XP Mode Suggest Major OS Changes Moving Forward?

Ive been playing with Windows 7 since the early betas and along with being especially impressed with the operating system have found myself pondering why certain things have been implemented and what impact they may have going forward. I do want to also point out however that I personally didnt have much of an issue with Vista and have used the operating system successfully since release I was more disappointed with how quickly the technical community jumped on the bandwagon of slating the release especially when there were no grounds other than recital.

Microsoft today released service pack 2 for both Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista. From the Windows Server Division Webblog - Today we are pleased to announce the Release to Web (RTW) of Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. SP2, a combined service pack for both operating systems encapsulated in a single installer, will simplify deployment, management, and support for IT Pros. It includes support for new types of hardware and emerging hardware standards, as well as updates since SP1. For specific information on whats included in SP2, visit the notable changes document.

I dual boot my MacBook pro between OS X and Windows and way back when the Windows 7 BETA came out I set to use that. Because at that time a few things weren't quite right (like the built-in FTP client) I struggled to use it as my everyday OS but when the RC was released a few weeks back I couldn't wait to install it. The only issue I came up against during install was the fact that the AppSense BootCamp drivers didn't install out of the box...
